A picture of me taking a picture..

Wind storm in a ghost town

Old Ghost town, wind storm, power cut, deserted!!

This should make you laugh. So I moved to another spot for the heck of it, about 5 miles away. I checked in to this converted old ghost town hotel. About an hour later a massive wind storm kicked in, about an hour after that the power went out. I went down to the reception, all locked up everybody had gone, it was only 3 pm! Because there was no power we had no mobile reception. As it got dark it was apparent I was the only person in the whole place! So I did the only think that was appropriate, got drunk! The power eventually came on about 4am. Of course Laurie thought I died in a tornado!!

A panoramic from my cabin

Not what you'd expect to see in the middle of Texas?

Sunset from a 2 min walk from my cabin!

Didn't see any wild life what so ever...

More of big bend....

St Helena canyon, BIg Bend national park

If you look closely at the stars you can see them blurring, thats the earth spinning!

This was taken at 1am under a full moon.

This was taken right outside my cabin door!

I think this says it all!

Possibly one of the craziest place I've been! I was here for 2 nights

This is in a place called Study Butte. Right near big bend national park. Its a real hippy arty town, not what you'd expect in Texas. I was staying in one of these little cabins, mine was mint green. It was like being on the moon!

Day 11 / Still in Texas/ 157 miles / 3 hours

One of the gaffs Brad Pitt is building, well he's not doing but funding it

Although this house is about 50 M from one of the levee's that broke!

Some hope

Over half the people the died, did in this district

The army had to check every building and they left there mark on every one

The markings indicate date, which army unit searched and how many bodies found. In the wealthier parts of the city they left these marking on the pavement.

3.5 years on!

These X stickers mean these houses will be demolished if not claimed

Its quite incredible that there soo much that just been abandoned

Every house had been gutted and they all look like this inside

All these following shots are from the lower 9th ward, the hardest hit

Getting ready for mardis gras

French Quarter
